Our experience was fantastic, thanks in large part to our amazing waitress, Anna, who provided top-notch service throughout the evening. My husband ordered the quesabirria tacos, and he thoroughly enjoyed them. I opted for the filet tacos with bone marrow, which were equally satisfying. The highlight of our meal was definitely the queso fundido—absolutely amazing! The bean dip was also tasty, and we couldn't get enough of the fresh guacamole. To drink, we tried the Diamante Negro and loved it. I also had a cucumber drink that I transformed into a margarita, and it was refreshing and delicious. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant are lovely; the owner has done a wonderful job creating a warm and inviting space. Don’t let the negative reviews deter you—give Origin a try! “ Loved this place! It was definitely a unique experience and I loved the vibe. Our server was great, and when my mom didn’t see a drink she liked on the menu our server asked the bartender to make her a custom rum drink and it was delicious! They give you bean dip and salsa that my mom loved. My mom got the chicken and I got the ribeye and we both enjoyed our meals. You MUST get the tiramisu-best I’ve ever had (see video). I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on a Saturday night, as they weren’t accepting walk-ins when we arrived. Luckily, we snagged a couple of seats at the bar. The cocktails were creative and delicious, and the food was amazing with plenty of great options to choose from. Can’t wait to go back and try more! ”

“ This place was perfect. If there's a word better than perfect, it was that! Came for my bday. Greeted so nicely from Grace as soon as we walked in. Our server was on point the whole night. Food and drinks were A. If your intention is to go out somewhere nice for dinner, Origen is the spot. We will be coming back, and I'm telling as many people as possible about our experience. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. (We ordered tomahawk, mac and cheese, mushrooms , mash potatoes and pork tacos, I forgot the name of the drinks but they were good. Try all of them!) ”

“ I have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while. They were closed unexpectedly a few weeks ago but appear to have a thriving restaurant. Although marketed as a Mexican Steak House, there are interesting elements from South America as well. Upon entering, my date and I observed that the decor is especially unique. There is a lot of wood and a lively atmosphere. I’ve dined around the world... this restaurant has a very unique theme and interior! The waitstaff was excellent, drinks, food, and attention were professional and what one would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. We ordered a few glasses of wine, the guacamole with pork belly, picanha steak with fries, and not-so-tiramisu for dessert. We were not at all disappointed. The steak was robust, beefy, flavorful, and cooked to order. It was my first time my date and I had that cut and it was fantastic! The guacamole and pork belly were served with wonderfully crispy tortillas and presented in a unique way. When one thinks of pork belly perhaps bacon comes to mind... not in this case. Delectable cubes of pork are laid on top of the guacamole - a unique experience. By the time dinner was over, we were stuffed but did indeed have desert. The tiramisu was presented uniquely and had a flavorful profile and texture. For the life of me, I can’t understand why restauranteurs crank the music so loud that it’s hard to have a conversation. There was a great mix of rock music which we observed everyone enjoyed. However, a well healed clientele will certainly want to converse with their dinner guests. Consider knocking the sound down about 10-15 dB. Your diners will enjoy the balance of great music and conversation. The East Valley has a great new restaurant. It is named Origen. Best of luck to the owner/operators and staff. We absolutely will be back for more great food and atmosphere! Thank you, great job!
